In reply to <a href="https://www.themovieblog.com/2010/11/true-grit-tv-spots-online/#comment-266620">knossis</a>.

This one is supposed to be centered around Maddie Ross even more so, and is not necessarily a remake of the movie but another adaptation of the book. The original was very true to the book so it will probably be very similar. Also, a true western hasn't been made in a while and, contrary to popular belief, I think remakes can really add a lot to a movie and give a modern day perspective. Camera's have greatly evolved since the original, which will only make the shots more beautiful, and I find it hard to believe that the Coen Brothers would not add anything unique to this film. Regardless of a persons opinion of their work, you can't say that their movies aren't distinct.

I'm not feeling this. I love the original with John Wayne, one of the best westerns of all time in my opinion. I'm also a big fan of the Cohen Brothers but, nothing here seems note worthy or different. I've heard that Maddie Ross will be the central figure in this one but in my opinion she was the central figure in the original as well. Jeff Bridges is one of my fav's but his Rooster just isn't right. I don't thing this will work.
