No, no, no. The Odd Couple has a ton of stage versions produced over the years. Plus, Jack Lemmon and Walter Matheau did a lot of movies together. The one I was looking into was “The Fortune Cookie” and was their FIRST movie they were in together.

It’s a great piece and could really use an update. Check it out if you’ve never seen it.

Funny enough, I was just in contact with their legal department TODAY to try and secure the rights to adapt an old Jack Lemmon/Walter Matheau movie into a stage play and they abruptly told me that the stage rights were not available for that movie. I was shocked and now I’m wondering if I should apply again a little later after they get their crap together. I’m wondering if they’re just not wanting to mess with allowing the rights to things to be relinquished yet with all of the other legal messes they’ve got going on in the works.

well, looking at their properties, couldn’t find anything that would appeal to any other studio other than the already mentioned hobbit and bond (unless we need another legally blonde movie)
