I’d be excited to hear Del Toro was directing just about anything, except maybe the next care bears movie……..

You know something? I never thought I would type this. But I am.
Call me… unexcited. I’m also curious how Del Toro will find the time to direct the pilot. Maybe by the time it’s ready to roll he’ll be in between films and has a window.

But I’d much rather…hey, I know I’m gonna take some heat, kay…?
I’d much rather Del Toro direct or produce “Incredible Hulk 2” – film, not the show- which, in my view, has only one reason for being “green” lit to begin with. That being The Hulk is known for the 70s TV series, and therefore in this age of revamping old shows to bad (Bionic Woman, Knight Rider) or good (Galactica, V, Hawaii Five-o) it DOES fit in that criteria.

My main skeptic is due to the fact that it will be unconnected to the Marvel film-verse; a new actor (or actors?) will play Banner and The Hulk . unless they went GREY HULK (!!) count me out.

In fact, come to think of it… I am betting on Grey Hulk.

I agree it’s unlikely to be exactly like Smallville, but I’m not sure making Banner to be in his mid 20’s is a good idea. The only reason seems to be to suit any future seasons that may come. I always saw Banner to be in his 30’s and with plenty of experience in his feild. Not a few years out of university.

I just get the feeling the production company wants a Hulk that will fit in with the new Spider-man reboot. Still (As I said) if Del Toro gets a say (Which I’m sure he will) it could be epic.

Sounds to me like we may be getting a Smallville style Hulk series. However I’m not sure Del Toro would sign on to that idea. As for the size of the hulk, I don’t really mind him being smaller and maybe Hulkling size (See comics). Still with such a director on board I’m game and look forward to seeing some classic villians punch it out with the big green guy.

Heck yea, how could I think this news anything but great? Really I think to much is being made of the CGI budget for the hulk. If you look at the Bill Bixby series, the Hulk was maybe on screen for 3-5 minutes of each episode. Its not like you are going to do a 42 minute CGI Hulk fest every week.

What will carry this series is the daily interaction of Bruce Banner and his daily life of solitude and loneliness.
