Any character that Idris Elba ever plays will never match Stringer Bell from The Wire. I’m both a sports and movie guy. To me, Elba needs to attack the sports genre in some way. Problem is, he’s British. Maybe he can’t relate to football, hoops, or baseball and I don’t see Hollywood trying to make a soccer or cricket movie any time soon. But he’s got the body and tough guy image to play some bad-ass athlete with a checkered past, trying to get another shot. Anybody else feeling me on this?
