If Spielberg is on deck for the movie he should bring in George Lucas in as well!!Halo could be the next giant franchise for both men.And some one turn these dudes on to Matthew Reilly,fantastic action writer!!

Bungie had little to do with the decision to not follow Pj and his pal on their vision for Halo.

Blomkamp at the time was a complete unknown. Never directed a feature film in his life. Some mediocre short films that showed off how good of an effects artist he was is all anyone knew about him.

And PJ was asking for nearly triple the budget that the studio was willing to put up for it. Microsoft is made of money and didn’t even offer anything toward the budget to fund this film. Why? The unknown director that was part of the deal.

Bungie has some fringe rights still, but if they avoid the storyline of the original game, they can cut them out of the deal entirely and deal directly with Microsoft.

This is a lot more appealing than the PJ/Blomkamp deal.

It’s a great idea, not “following” the game. It’s also the reason why it will slow as a snail getting made. Longer than an Indy Jones film.

But the outfits are cool and the action figures look decent. in a G.I Joe suit kinda way.

However, that might actually not be a good idea since the prequel is already out in game format and people would do nothing but nit pick…

I think revisiting the lore that the original Halo brought us in the original Xbox would be the best route. Regardless, I’m stoked.

I’d honestly be more interested in a Gear of War movie, story there at least is slightly more original.
