Theres better plsaces to make this point, but if this author and everyone else must know the reasons for such a late edition are simple and obvious. Cameron had to get his movie out to the public in the standard 5-6 months like everyone else, being that this is AVATAR that would never do for a man so devoted to his movies and their supplement. So he did us a favor by at least giving us Avatar in the highest picture+sound quality to date. There were alot of great plot thickening and extra delelopmental scenes left out of the movie thanks to time and budget. A movie as sucsessful and epic as this one completely deserves to be cared and worked on until it has a deserving ultimate release. And dont get me started on the importance of exploring and explaining the world within the movie and the one behind the scenes. If you didnt like the movie tough s**t this one of the few films worthy of such an amazing edition now matter how you look at it. I dont think any fan could have anticipated so much from one movie, were all very lucky.

"Glad I waited. Looks like it is the verison they should have just released to begin with instead of the standard release without any extra features"

Cameron was pretty much forced to release the standard version without all the goodies, so they could get it out on Earth day.
