I agree DeVil was simply amazing. Probably cuz I thought it was gunna suck, but I think thinking it was gunna suck made it that much better.

I watched Devil yesterday and I’ve got to say it was amazing. I wasn’t expecting much other than a cheap thrills and a swiss storyline(tons of plot holes). But fortunately there was a great story, incredible acting and a wonderful script. It definitely deserves to be higher in the Box Office but unfortunately people will see that Shammhammer’s name is attached to it and will automatically think that he wrote and directed it and therefore will not go see it and give it the chance that it deserves.

Remakes don't come out anywhere near as much as you would think its just they are what stick in your mind because its an existing property with brand recognition which is why that sticks in your brain longer. Although I kinda get where you are coming from, I am also happy that the town and easy A are doing well because they are not sequels,comic book transformations, reimaging/remakes. These films are simply a great script made into a good-great movies and I agree with McClure that we need more of that.

Nightmare on Elm Street, Karate Kid and Clash of the Titans were remakes.

How many movies do you think came out this summer? I think all the remakes actually make up a minority of the popular films that have come out.

I was happy to hear that The Town and Easy A both did well over the weekend. Too much crap has come out of Hollywood this summer. They need to get back to basics and make new, entertaining stuff, not grind out remakes of remakes of remakes.
