Thing is, there are too many ways to stop said train without it derailing but again you’d need the means of getting on the train, Power wise – Gov. button for starters, pull it and you shut the diesel down. now it would still roll of course but then you could apply hand brakes on the engine and cars still risky business but doable…. the trailer doesn’t specify if it has NO air brakes (i.e they lost all brake pressure by malfunction) or if they mean they are just released… guess its up for speculation but if they were just released hop on and apply some automatic or independent and good game or just out it in emergency… your a hero but i guess we will have to just watch it so find out!

FAIR GO,ITS BASED ON ACTUAL EVENTS THAT REALLY HAPPENED,THAT ALONE SHOULD BE WORTH THE PRICE OF A TICKET…..SHOULDNT IT??? IM INTO TRAINS AND ALSO DRIVE TRAINS(frieght)FOR A LIVING.KNOW ALL ABOUT THE INHERIT DANGERS OF TRANSPORTING DANGEROUS GOODS BY RAIL AND HAVE OFTEN WONDERED WHAT DEVASTATION WOULD BE LIKE IF ONE OF THE TRAINS I WERE OPERATING WENT OUT OF CONTROL,SCARY STUFF! THIS WILL BE ONE OF THIS YEARS FLICKS I WILL LINE UP TO SEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In reply to Mike Wayne. It is basically the plot the the N64 video game from the 90's Blast Corps. Albeit in the video game it was a truck with nuclear warheads on the back of it. It is still the first thing I thought of when I read the premise to this movie.

This sounds almost exactly like the plot in the TV movie “Atomic Train”. “A runaway train carrying nuclear materials must be stopped before it collides and blows up a town.”

I really wish Tony Scott would never ever make a movie again. True Romance was great thanks to Tarantino’s script. Top Gun was cheesy fun and Crimson Tide was kinda good. Other than that he makes one horrible film after another and for some reason Denzel is always along for the ride. Maybe Tony Scott is holding some threat over Denzel? Unstoppable might of appealed to me if I was 14 again. I hoped Chris Pine would of chosen some better post Trek films to be in. Deja Vu no thanks. Man on Fire was horrible. Tony Scott seems to of watched one to many 90’s Oliver Stone films with different film stocks and crazy edits and decided to make every movie in the same fashion.

Looks alright at best to me.

I haven’t been wowed by a Tony Scott film since Man on Fire.

If this is going to be worth watching it would only be because it offers nonstop action and if they can deliver on that it might be worth otherwise I can’t see this turning into anything great.
