So awesome, can’t wait for this series! And even more awesome that this actually premieres Halloween night. So damn cool of them to do that.

I gotta say though, the beginning of the trailer is allot like the start of 28 Days Later.

Even still, looks great and I feel a TV series about zombies is WELL over due. So glad it finally happened.

Originally, zombies came from various West African religions that eventually became voodoo in Haiti, but those zombies are different. The modern zombie was basically invented by George Romero in, of course, “Night Of The Living Dead.” Since then, a different sort of zombies (I call them “viral zombies,” but I don’t think there’s an official name to differentiate them) have started popping up that are basically people infected by a virus, instead of a corpse that has been reanimated (been a while since I’ve seen it, but I think in NOTLD they blamed radiation from a meteor). I used to be completely against running zombies (or making noise other than low moaning, complex fighting, etc), but I pretty much accept them now as long as they aren’t based off Romero zombies.

in my opinion, zombie should move slow, because, well, they’re just reanimated corpes. They lack the use of brain and have low IQ , only driven by one mission which is “hungry”. If you want fast moving creature of the undead. We have vampires and werewolves and succubus for that.
Beside we have to take a look the origin of zombie itself. Which derived from ancient pagan ritual from carribean or african origin, which is presumably dead individual being reanimated by witch doctor. And no written whatsoever that said corpe moving with speed and great agility.

In reply to MADMAX_007. Well for me the ones that move at normal human speed are scarier simply because that means you've lost the one advantage you always had over zombies, speed. With the slow moving ones you could at least outrun them, regoup, think of a plan. With the fast ones you don't have that luxury. And about the Resident Evil games I wonder if the change from RE: Code Veronica to RE:4 (in RE:4 the people were no longer infected with a virus but a plague, and if I'm not mistaken they could move at normal human speeed, use weapons, and even formulate strategies) in order to accomodate this new trend in zombie action.

I agree with you Liyo that the slow-moving, retarded zombies in movies aren’t really all that horrifying and also sort of boring adversaries (unless in really Really HUGE numbers). I mean remember how that black guy took out like 4 zombies bare-handed in the 1990 Night of the Living Dead remake? IMO one fast-moving, smart “infected”, as most of y’all call ’em, is 10 times scarier than a “real” zombie. That’s why I think the 28 whatever Later movies were horror masterpieces in comparison to the slow-moving zombie, Romero-type movies that came before them.

So how would you zombie fanatics categorize the zombies in Resident Evil? They move slow but yet they are infected by a virus…. Half-breeds maybe??? IDK

Man people are going to be impressed with how this show will play out if they keep the time spacing how it was in the comic. Literally people you think who are going to make it are killed in the most crazy moments of pandemonium. Cam’t wait for Michonne and the crazy zombie arena town! OMG I CANT WAIT FOR SEASON 2 AND 3!!!!! AND SEASON ONE HASNT STARTED@!!
