Mr.T Does Not Approve of the A-Team Movie

Seems that the original BA Baracus – Mr.T – has seen the new A-Team movie and he hates it.

Ramascreen says:

“People die in the film and there’s plenty of sex but when we did it, no one got hurt and it was all played for fun and family entertainment,” said Mr. T. “These seem to be elements nobody is interested in anymore.”
“It was too graphic for me. I’ve no doubt it will do big business at the box office but it’s nothing like the show we turned out every week.”

To say “Nothing” might be a stretch as it seems to have a LOT of the campy action and comedy. But his biggest issue is that its been updated to fit in with what people like to see in movies lately.

Uh…. Good!!!

It seems that every reason why I didn’t want to see an A-Team film made has been avoided and we still look to be getting a movie that pays tribute to the feel of the original. As with any adaptation, there has to be changes to make it more appealing to the current market.

Is anyone going to want to watch a high paced gun battle with twelve thousand rounds of ammunition being spent and no one actually gets shot? And who wants to be all suggestive about Face’s sexual exploits? In the original show he scored so little but talked a big talk. He might as well have been in the closet.

And this coming from the guy who thought the “Treat Your Momma Right” video was a good idea.

So bring on the shootin’ the killin and the sexin.

  1. I agree! I really enjoyed the movie, but afterwards felt a bit ashamed and kind of like I needed a shower. Everywhere they are, the team is killing Americans regardless of whether they are Army, CIA, Spec Ops or anyone caught in the crossfire. And they all seem really happy about it. It made them look truly mental when the original team didn’t actually ‘do’ anything wrong. This ends up really wrong on so many levels. This disgraces the history and integrity the A-Team is supposed to have. Besides, Mel Gibson (who IS Hannibal Smith in real life) or Hugh Jackman should have played the lead role. Liam Neeson–You’re great looking but didn’t really pitch a real game.  Pity the Fool who doesn’t get this.

  2. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, after all it’s Mr. T-Clubber Lang-Barracas!

    dont F#@k with him!

besides Dudes like a minister or somethin’ right?

  3. With all due respect to Mr. T, if this would have been a movie in the 80’s there would have been sex and death in it as well.

I have to give the current marketing people credit, when they announced this movie I thought there was NO WAY I would see it. But from the previews it looks like a lot of fun.

  4. The truth be told non of us have seen the film to really comment on what Mr. T was talking about. But I have to kind of feel for the guy since he was in the original show and he feels that the franchise he helped start has gone to the dogs so to speak. At least that is what I’m getting. What made the A-team good was the team dynamic and the comedy of the show. I don’t feel that people really tuned in for the fight scenes in the 80s, not that they were fun. People like the A-Team, and perhaps the film moves away from that.

  5. Alright Mr.T calm down. I seem to remember an A-Team episode where they got the residents of a retirement home to help fight off some bad guys using sprinklers, fire extinguishers, and their canes… Yeah Mr.T that sounds like a great adaption for the Silver Screen. The A-Team was a non-violent show but only due to censorship restrictions at the time, if that show was made today it would of looked a lot more like 24. Even though I loved the show, which had incredible special effects at the time the audience of today would of hated that as a film, unless of course they made it a comedy.

    1. agreed with everything here…i wouldve settled for a starsky and hutch parody comedy thing as well…im like the only guy i know that liked that

    2. Agree 100% with you. I loved the original A-Team but I didnt like that no one ever got killed. If The A-Team were the same format in today’s market the show wouldn’t last five episodes.

Mr. T just got it wrong on this one, can’t wait to see the new A-Team bring it!
