Indiana Jones 5’s Plot?

Apparently Indy 5 is near to having it’s story/script ready. Double Warning ahead: 1) This scoop has not been confirmed, nor dismissed. 2) Possible spoilers follow…Enjoy

Stuff states:

Indiana Jones 5 will begin shooting next year, and much of the plot line will be centred around the Bermuda Triangle, an area over the North Atlantic Ocean where a number of aircraft are said to have disappeared. “George (Lucas) and Steven (Spielberg) have been working on a script and it’s almost there,” a source explained. “Harrison is on stand-by for filming next year. This looks like being an emotional and exciting conclusion to the franchise, with Indy facing his biggest challenge yet.” “Shia LaBeouf has a central role again as Indy’s son but this will be a blockbuster made in the old fashioned way rather than the CGI efforts of the last movie,” the source added.

I’m a hardcore Indy fan. This means I will watch Indy 5, even if they put Harrison fighting monkeys and ants at the same time, inside a refrigerator. Does that cover it? Lol. I like the idea that Lucas and Spielberg, are apparently going old-school with this one; they won’t be using CGI like maniacs. This must be really hard on Lucas lol. I’m diggin’ the effort of going “back to it’s roots”. Also, notice how it’s already being tagged as the conclusion to the franchise – this will be a great marketing strategy.

Regardless…I’ll watch it when it comes out.

How about you guys? What do you think of the possible storyline? Who do you want to see come back for the last round?

  1. I love the original Indiana Jones movies because all they used were miniatures and some green screen. I doubt effets will be that basic, but for me I will definately go to see that movie. Harrison Ford never gets old especially in Indiana Jones. I am not really a fan of Shia LaBeouf, but it doesnt ever ruin a movie for me. I think it will be a great movie! I am looking forward to seeing it with my family.

  3. Didn’t they say the last one would be “old-school”? Even if #4 dissapointed, I’m up for a fifth…but make Indy into human being who can feel pain. In “Raiders” he’s injured after being draggd behind a truck, in “Crystal” he jumps up from an Atomic explosion just fine.

  4. As for the infamous refridgerator scene, I didn’t think it was that bad! Temple of Doom had an over the top scene with the inflatable boat filled with Jones, the blond and the little asian kid falling from the airplane then going down the waterfall, so it’s all fun. the problem to me was Fonzie (a.k.a. Shia) and the bad acting in spots, that combined with the monkeys and cookie cutter aliens and POOF! there went that movie.

THAT SAID, I want another one A.S.A.P.!

  5. I have no choice but to watch, i’ve invested so much time into indy I have to see it through. Now if only the Kurgen appeared and decapitated Shia then this movie would end on a good note.

  6. As long as Mutt & Indy actually start to connect, and the whole damn thing doesn’t take place on the deck of a boat (maybe a hidden island?) I think this will work fine. But PLEASE George, no more aliens. It just doesn’t fit Indy.
Otherwise Hell Yes I will be seeing this.

  7. I don’t know if it’s possible for these two to make a good Indy again. I thought the last one was worse than any of the Star Wars prequels. I usually like Shia LaBeouf, but I hated his character in this. I know I’ll have to see it but I won’t be happy about it.

  8. I have no hope for this. The only good IJ movies have involved him going off in search of Christian artifacts; that’s a formula I don’t think they should mess with.
