I really think that Bane should be the villain in the third Batman movie since he is one of Batman's principal enemies and that Crappy "Batman and Robin" movie got him all wrong in the first place. I mean, let's face it. Even though a guy who gets bigger and stronger from toxic-absorption may seem over-the-line for Nolan's realistic (and awesome) treatment to his Batman franchise, but that's where rewriting comes in! I mean, before his movie rewrote him, Ra's al ghul was a mystical-based villain rather than a ninja/technologically-insane villain like in Batman Begins. Nolan, being such a talented writer, could always make it so that Bane used a specially-designed/crafted technological enhancement serum to get his strength and that he has a hatred for Batman simply because he has something big planned and knowing Batman's reputation, he doesn't want him to get in his way. Of course, they will have to rethink the whole "Breaking the bat's back" thing.

f u go bak on and read my message i also think that line up works and your plot wud be great but black masks origin could be told, and the riddler could be a disgraced police detective, since he is always claiming he is smarter than batman, great idea hope u agree

Seriously... no one for Anarky? He is perhaps the most underused anti-villain ever and would fit perfectly with current world events. He could have a background as one of the Anarchists in the 1999 Seattle protests and be played by Damian Lewis or Seth Green (if he can be serious enough). Can you imagine Anarky attempting to overthrow the American government by rousing the working and poor people into mobs all over the States? What a huge opportunity to examine Batman's values on Law, Police, the State, Legitimate Authority and what's "fair" (can use two-face to intro this topic in the start of the movie).

considering zsasz was in begins and tdk as a cameo, id say its safe to say that hell have a small role in number 3. my guess is more than a cameo, but lrss than say two faces role in tdk. the holiday storyline would be perfect for the third film as it brings in the mob and more detective work and would fit nicely in nolans world. Am i really the only one who voted for holiday? Lastly, i could see bane being done really well in nolans films.

In reply to <a href="https://www.themovieblog.com/2010/06/batman-3-the-villains-poll/#comment-253528">Audioout</a>.

I think a great plot for Batman 3 would include both the Riddler and Black Mask.

At the conclusion of the Dark Knight, we are left with a few certainties:

1.) Any attempt to recast the Joker would be ill-advised;
2.) Batman is now running from the police--a reality that will have to be addressed in the next installment; and
3.) There is a power vacuum that now exists in the mob, and a character is going to have to fill that void.

In my opinion, the best way to proceed is to address these issues by including the aforementioned characters.

It would stand to reason that the Riddler would begin the film by assisting the Gotham City police force with the attempted capture of Batman. Simultaneously, Black Mask, aka Roman Sionis, would be stepping in to lead organized crime through a series of vicious murders. I believe adding Black Mask would enrich the film's story--especially because he not only is a nemesis of Batman, but also Bruce Wayne himself.

In the Riddler and Black Mask, Batman would have to deal with the biggest challenge of his so-called vigilante career, and the assault would be personal. There should even be a moment when Roman Sionis realizes that Batman is actually Bruce Wayne, and teaming-up with the Riddler, plan to reveal his true identity.

With the eventual defeat of the Riddler and Black Mask, the Nolan series would come to a dramatic conclusion. And I think, quite appropriately, would allow Batman to finally retire.

What does everyone think?

first of all batman was out of gotham for a quarter of the film batman begins and he went to china to capture lao in the dark knight so i dont care if he leaves or not i voted for bane black mask and riddler - Black mask especially he has never been in a film and think of the endless possibilitys of a team up him and joker but the villain who i would definately not like to see is catwoman unless shes wearing a revealing costume she would be terrible on her own

well as for zsasz i think he should be in batman 3 but only as a character batman comes across. with batman having knowledge of zsasz's criminal profile, a decent fight scene at arkham would be great to see. the main villian should be the riddler. not being much of a physical opponent for batman i think we nolan should allow riddler to find out batman's true identity and use it to his advantage... the penguin is also a good villian. with nolan's realistic view on batman , the penguin should simply be a major crime or drug lord that happens to be short in height. penguin is just a nickname. one thing is for sure, even though this is the final installment, the movie should end with the audience knowing that batman will continue to protect gotham city. bruce wayne can maybe say he's lookin for a veichle thats more subtle. from there we see the actual batmoblie. ( a super tricked out lamborgini )
