I dont think you need to “sell” Batman 3 too much though. If you cast Depp, give him his own character to play with…if they recast Joker (which I think they should if they meant for him to be in a 3rd installment) I think a guy like Gordon-Levitt would be perfect. If they decide not to use the Joker again, thats fine too. I could see Depp as Riddler or maybe even some other villain, or perhaps an original character. We’ll see.

From his appearance in Angels in the Outfield, to 500 Days of Summer, he always comes out with great acting. I even thought he was pretty decent in GI JOE, despite the film not being that good. My favorite Gordon-Levitt role would have to be the high school detective he played in Bully. @Kevin C I think you bring up a great point. He would do a much better job than Johnny Depp (a name I’ve heard thrown out there), although I think Depp would bring more box office thunder.

He’s done a lot of small projects here in there and built up quite a rep as a heck of an actor. Obviously he was in 10 Things I Hate About You, but since then he’s got great small budget films like The Lookout and 500 Days of Summer, he was great in both of them. Im very interested to see how he holds up in Inception with alot of other big names, if he does well I think he will blow up big time.
