The original BOOSTER GOLD series over at DC explored that very concept in 1986.

Hell… Marvel did it with DAZZLER.

Youngblood (the hockey film) was filmed mostly in Hamilton, and a friend of mine in Highschool lived next door to the house they used for the characters to live in (on Canon street between Sherman and Gage)

Now the other bit-the main story here- is so damned bad that I wish
this was a remake of that Rob Lowe-Patrick Swayze hockey flick from the late 80’s. I could still wish. I still could kid myself.

I come up wanting.

I dare you to find anywhere that I have said Twilight was epic prose. Its poorly written and full of typos (how did those make it past editing?).

In defense of Twlight, for me its interesting because they play with the mythos and make us look at Vampires differently. I love their “royalty” and how everything they are fits in with what you assume they are. They put a reality to myth. I am always interested in fantasy that “breaks the rules” because “there is no originality left in hollywood”

But for most, the value of Twilight is that it CONNECTS with its target audience. Yes, Bella is a whiney over emotional dramatic crybaby, but in reality most teen girls are. They can relate to that. You loose a boyfriend that you fall so hard for at 17 and you will mope for days (Bella moped for months)

Twilight has its value DESPITE being horribly written, emo romance trash. There is an interesting world of myth and fantasy right in the real world there.

Nothing Liefeld has done can be compared to Twilight. He is beneath it.

Leifeld and Ratner are a perfect fit for each other.

In my mind, Rob Leifeld will always be the toolbox from the early 90s Levis commercial. Does anyone else remember that commercial? It used to air on Mtv every 5 minutes. ‘I call this Spikeman’.

Much of the backstory of Deadpool was added after Liefeld was out of the picture, and the best Deadpool stories were never written with Liefeld anyways.

Even Cable (also his “creation”) wasn’t what he is today when Liefeld made him.

But you can’t hate him entirely, he did help give us Deadpool which I think is one of the funniest and coolest characters of the Marvel Universe.

Didn’t they have a Youngblood animated series back in the 90’s? Or was that Wild CATS? Can’t remember for the life of me.

Alan Moore played around with Youngblood in his Supreme comics, and when he did it, they didn’t seem so craptastic.

Comic book art and Anime are two entirely different illustrative styles.

To hate Liefeld for what he does is not at all related to how Anime is drawn. Anime is compared to other anime. Its not that either you like it, or you dont. You like parts of it for its style and appeal to you, and dislike other parts for how it doesn’t.

Not all comic book artists draw the same, but Liefeld tries to draw like the rest of them and fails miserably. How he keeps getting work is beyond me. And its not just his style or ability to draw. Its his completely unethical business manner. He copies everything he does. There isn’t an original thought in his head or pencil.

What Liefeld does is NOT what Anime does. And I don’t have a blanket love for all Anime. I like particular parts of it that appeal to me, just as I would assume ANYONE would.

I have never praised “the worst drawn art in the history of anime”

Rush Hour was an terrible trilogy. The first one wasn’t bad but there are direct parallels in the first Rush Hour to Money Talks. For example, Charlie Sheen and Chris Tucker walk into the shady bar/ hang out joing to get weapons from Tuckers cousin. There’s almost an identical scene in Rush Hour where they both walk into a locked down bar and talk to a guy that Tucker knows for information. Ratner is the worst…period!!!
