I know it’s a bad film but Freddy vs Jason is one of my favourite films, only because it’s 2 giants in the horror industry coming face to face and with a different director and a different approach to the film it could have been a classic.
I’m enjoying the remakes of these classic horrors such as Friday 13th and Halloween not saying they always work, what might have scared you back then would do well to scare you now, but it’s not all about the gore, blood or whether it can make you jump into your girlfriends lap, for me it’s always the character Jason, Micheal and Freddy and the dark background on their lives how they died (i know micheal didn’t) and why they are back for revenge.
I’m really looking forward to this Freddy instalment, it is going to take some getting use to as it isn’t Robert Englund playing Freddy and i hope Jackie Earle Haley is up to the challenge.

I live really close to where they filmed this movie on the southeast side of chicago. I was even lucky enough to stand around one night to witness them filming some scenes at this little shitty building that they setup to be badham pre school. I came to the location that they were shooting at the following day to see the set vacant, except for a crew and cast script for the scene they were filming. It so happens that this script was the last scene of the movie! I still have them laying in my closet…thats what happens when they have an unorganized film crew!

Yeah, and Hellraiser as cool as it was(part 1&2 anyways) cant come close to the commercial hieghts that Elm St. had.

Scream was a parody of itself and knew it, thats why they were a blast (well the first one anyways, Rose Mcgowan’s nips made me an instant fan)

In reply to Daniel. And film is subjective, but if more people thought as you do, the series wouldnt have had that many sequels. You are free to dislike it, but please dont make it sound like someone else isn't allowed to since you are clearly in a minority.

In reply to 420BAND. Shit is still shit no matter how many different ways you try to make it. The entire Nightmare on Elm Street series is horrible and I'm sure any remake will be just as awful. Remaking Hellraiser or even the Scream series would have been a more justifiable business venture for the producers of this film than the obnoxious, not funny, not scary and incredibly annoying Fred Krueger flicks.

The first was legendary!(I was about 12 as well)
then they got sillier and sillier as time went on, wont even mention the T.V. series.

here’s to hoping it comes back with a vengance!
