Its not sexist, its an assesment about a woman who would be portrayed as a “warrior woman” who is barely 100lbs trying to weild a sword that could typically weigh between 20 and 30lbs.

Its just physics. I don’t want to see a “warrior woman” archetype that my 12 year old could beat up.

In reply to Austin. Yea, I wouldn't mind Biel either. There are many that give her a bad rap as being a mediocre actress but I think she is ok myself. She really hasnt chosen too well her projects so I think that is a big part of it. I still think Yvonne Strahovski would do well as Red Sonja. At this point I agree with the other poster here who says this will never get made anyhow.

When will people learn… Whenever there is a role demanding physicality and beauty, the answer IS jessica biel. Would I prefer to see Megan fox as red Sonja? Well, yes. Not gonna lie. Fox with red hair would be incredible. BUT, I can really only see biel having the build and enough acting chops, as well as being stunning enough to pull this off. Jovovich would be great also, definetely a believability step up from rose and fox in regards to the physical presence, but why do we think that? Because we’ve already seen it. I thought she was really frail and a bad choice before seeing RE 1. So who knows.

Well I think they should take a look at Yvonne Strahovski (Agent Sarah Walker) from the show “Chuck” on NBC. She has a nice athletic build, not to muscular and nor skinny. Dying her hair red is an easy matter, she already does some stunt work on chuck in fight scenes and such.

I think she would be perfect for the Red Sonja role. She is a decent enough actor as well.

Now if they said she dyes her hair blonde and goes Tonya Roberts in a literal remake of Sheena, Queen Of The Jungle, complete with grave digging elephants, I just might buy it.
