The Crazies Trailer Online

A trailer for The Crazies has hit the net, and while it doesn’t creep me out as much as I would hope a zombie flick would, it isn’t terrible. Unfortunately it isn’t great either. Check it out.

Trailer Addict calls it:

David Dutton (Timothy Olyphant) is sheriff in a picture-perfect American town with happy, law-abiding citizens. But one night, one of them comes to a school baseball game with a loaded shotgun, ready to kill. Another man burns down his house after locking his wife and young son in a closet inside. Something is infecting the citizens of Ogden Marsh…with insanity.

Forced to band together, an ordinary night becomes a struggle for survival as they try to get out of town alive.

At least that descriptive is better than the press release that uses phrases like “Everything is perfect in the small town until suddenly it isnt”

Oh verbal gems like that don’t come along every day.

Either way, the trailer has me moderately interested, if only to see how it stacks up against the George A Romero zombie classic.

  1. “At least that descriptive is better than the press release that uses phrases like “Everything is perfect in the small town until suddenly it isnt” ”

Yeh, I remember that. Maybe one of “The Crazies” wrote it?

  2. wow just had Donnie Darko/Gears of War flashback. Mad World didn’t exactly fit this trailer. Still, I love Timothy Olyphant, so will probably end up seeing this.

  3. The original was more about people going complete cookoo (not necessarily violent) than people mindless attacking each other. This looks a lot like a modern day zombie movie which I think we have been over saturated with this. I’m surprised because george is tagged on as a producer but this makes me think his influence is minimal.

For fans of the original, check out Pontypool. This was the best “horror” of last year and is a spiritual remake of the crazies, and completely surpasses it as well even in social commentary .

  4. This trailer looks like a mediocre film trying to be a good film. The use of the Gary Jules song isn’t as effect as I believe they wanted it to be.

I will still watch it. I am just not too excited. Gotta give it a chance though.
