It’s a media server you run on your PC that allows streaming of Netflix, Hulu, and movies/music/pictures stored on the PC. It has done me no wrong, but I am curious to see how the official Netflix for the PS3 will compare.

Last I knew they only offered %10 of their catalog for streaming. when I had the service I ended up watching all the streaming content I was interested in in about a month.

Canada already has Netflix, but due to some limitations of the CRTC or perhaps just spite, the streaming service is not available here.

Netflix is planning on expanding their service over seas. So Canada will probably get it as well.

In the mean time you could try and make a second US account on your PS3 and see if you can stream Netflix that way. I don’t know if that will work or not.
I made a Japanese account in order to download the Yakuza 3 demo which worked fine.
