This movie is awesome. John was right a movie doesn't have to be violent to be exciting. Princess bride is a wonderful classic.I was shocked that the theater was packed. I wouldn't believe so many people would like it. I have heard the book was better but I have never read the it so i wouldn't know for sure. I can't believe the chemistry between the main two characters. It was beautiful and so romantic. Overall me and my sisters loved it!

I agree with you Ross! Thank you for raising this up. I've also wondered about the hype. I actually watched the movie years back when I heard about it on this very website. John and the guys sound like they really loved the movie, so out of curiosity, I got a copy and watched it. Maybe expectations ran too high but I thought the movie was just so-so. Nothing special. On some parts I even thought it was a bit on the cheesy side.

I actually don't remember much of it anymore. Maybe I should give it another try.

The book was far better than the movie...I've given out about four dozen copies to friends over the years...which I found incredibly disappointing. (I'd read the book when it first came out, so the adaptation failed for me.)
