The Anniversary becomes a Real Movie

Just because as proud John is of his work, sometimes he just doesn’t say anything about it because of the same pride.

Well as John has let me write on this site since it began, sometimes I get the privilege of showing off the efforts of one of my oldest friends. (Old as in longest running… he’s not that old!)

For those of you who don’t already know, John Campea, founder and editor of this very site has tried his hand at a documentary (Prince of Peace: God of War) and now he is taking a big step and directing his first Independent feature film.

The Anniversary has become a “real movie” and actually exists on the hallowed hall of records we call the Internet Movie Data Base.

John (and a lot of other familiar names) has been working hard on his film and that is why we haven’t seen a lot of him online here, but we know it will be worth the wait.

I imagine we will get the exclusive first look at the Trailer as well as the scoop on the release date or posters!

We are proud of you John! Can’t wait to see it!

  1. No mater how it turns out, good or bad (can’t be as bad as “Battlefield Earth”). It’s quite something just to get a film made. I’ve had friends put together a film and it’s no easy feat. So congratulations and I wish you luck.

  2. Am looking forward to the release John. Not to sound sycophantic but you are an inspiration to us all.

    1. Dude,

That was well said. I couldn’t have said it any better than that.

John, way to go man. No matter what happens, you worked your tail off to make your first full length film. I think this is great and wish you all the luck and success imaginable.

    1. Hey Brand (AKA “Alex” Yes, I know you’re both the same guy… ahhh the wonders of technology)

Yes, no doubt this might be worse than Street Fighter. Hell… it may end up being worse than Battlefield Earth. Fuck… it might even end up shittier than Highlander 2.

But I won’t take criticism from a gutless tool who posts as different people to make it look like others agree with him. Seriously… get a life.

    2. HAHAH BRAD the douchebag…..why hate in the mans art dickhead…john i dont always agree with u…maybe half the time .. but thats what makes us humans…we have are own opinions….but this guy brad or alex is a tool…IMO even if the movie does suck (i doubt it) it could never be any of the movies u listed just cause first of all, all those movies have lame fighting or special effects….where as if yours did suck ( i doubt it) it would be on its own terms…which imo is allready better then the 3 craptastic films u names…..cause they all copied something.

can wait to see your flick man!

    3. ….

once i used someone elses name to make it seem like she was agreeing with me.

i used gwyneth paltrows name to curse out someone that said she wasnt god…. but thats it…

      GP= GOD.

    4. This movie will indeed be better then Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li, but it won’t be as good as Mortal Kombat.

Begins to dance to “Techno-Syndrome 7” Mix.

  3. From what I saw of his documentary I can be sure that this film will suck as well. I’m sorry, but you don’t have talent as a filmmaker. stick to the blog.

  4. I just want to make sure diehard TMB Uncut Live!-ers don’t get their hopes up. After all, I was the script supervisor & Chuck Norris is editing it ;) And nothing EVER went wrong during the live shows.

  5. I remember when John was only just thiiiis tall.
    .
Kidding aside. John, you are good people. I have
come to this site for about 4 years now. I like your attitude towards films. I hope one day, years from now when you are accepting your 1st Emmy or Oscars that you say “Hi” to all the Movie Blog peeps.
    .
Congrats and Good Luck on your future projects.

    1. It takes awhile for the IMDB to roll out full info on a movie, especially when a credit is going to someone with no previous credits on the site. Within a couple of weeks I’m sure the illustrious Mr. Campea will be given full credit for his work.

  6. Way to go, Gio! Keep at it, and hopefully a big name picks it up and you get masterly famous! Then you can pay Rodney to say nice things about you! ;)
