Which is one of the reasons I forgive Sweet Home Alabama for a lot of what annoyed me about it. At least the love triangle wasn’t one where you can’t sympathize with the girl because she’s the idiot dating a jerk. And if you can’t sympathize with the girl then you can’t understand why you want the guy to end up with her.

But then I have the ultimate problem that I don’t actually like stories where a perfectly good guy gets dumped just because we’re supposed to want the girl with the hero instead. I’d much rather watch a movie about a girl and a guy who aren’t previously attached and don’t have other people vying for their attention but still have to go through the trials and troubles of life to get together and stay together. Because I find that a LOT more compelling.
