We have a pair of posters that are being thrown around to remind the academy about the merits of TDK this awards season. We get the hookup thanks to our friends at cinematical:
Both of these shots are great. I prefer the second shot where the Joker has his mask half-peeled; it looks as if he is bowing to the viewer while the mask looks onward.
Which one so you guys like?

both r good but secnd is good not just half peeled but at least we see his face !
BTW anyone else notice both posters are in the first 7 minutes
its about time!!!!!!
if there was anything Dragon Slayer and i agree on more its this!
The second poster is the best of all, especially with the mask half off. It’s very poetic and kinda makes you feel a bit “sad”
These 2 pictures soon to be a classic icon….
Fuck Wall-E, TDK for best pic!
I frikin love these posters! They are perfect!
Fuck TDK, Wall-E for best picture!
Someone else on here made mention of this and I know the site admins are very into it-but can someone explain the fascination with Wall-E? I watched it on the recommendation mostly of this site and it’s an ok cartoon but Best Picture material? I don’t get it. I really wish somoen could explain it because I would never even think of it in that category unless it was brought up so many times here.
These are great posters.
I’d like to believe that this will win for Best Picture..or that it will win an award or perhaps even two in the realm of acting.
However, I just feel like its going to walk away empty handed. I have nothing to support this feeling whatsoever, its not like I didn’t think it’s worthy of an Academy Award.
as good as ledger and eckhart were in their roles, i believe that oldman should get a nomination. he was practically invisible in his role. a lot of my friends didn’t even know he was in the film.
They both look pretty good and it’d be interesting to see one of them on like a Criterion DVD if The Dark Knight ever had one.
better get nominated for cinematography too!
I back up and second everything the mighty Darren Seeley said. If anyone is to get an acting nom for TDK, it should be Eckhart.
Both posters are great. As far as gettitng a nomination, In my opinion The Dark Knight is the best film of the year(So Far) and there is no other film this year that is even close. I rewatched WALL-E the other night and it’s still a great film but it just doesn’t hit me like TDK. My nominations if they were if I had to give them right now are The Dark Knight, In Bruges, Rachel Getting Married, Happy-Go-Lucky, and WALL·E, but we have a whole month to go so I’m sure my top five will change.
something that always bugged me about that opening scene: when the van pulls up, does no one see the joker with his mask off? were they all just not paying attention?
He’s there, he’s in the shot where the man is halding the clown mask before the car comes up. It’s the same mask he wears later in the bank. Look closely.
The Dark Knight is the best picture of the year to me. If they don’t nominate it for Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor, I will be so pissed.
I think these things are hilarious, considering how not-very-serious the character is supposed to be in this scene. You could probably make your own Oscar nom poster for any movie if you pause the film at just the right place.
These are both CLASSICS!! LOVE EM BOTH!
I personally love the shot of the joker on the street…when I saw that in the film the first time, I think I came…
I think theses pictures are superb. I think that the joker will now never be the same!! I hope they find a brilliant replacement

Pretty rad – if you go to the WB awards site, you can listen to the Dark Knight score (in it’s entirety I think):

Second better than the first; however…
There should be a good “For Your Consideration” ad for Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent/Two Face as well- if not a Best Picture/Director consideration. (Heck, throw in Cinematography too- Wally Pfister was nom’d a few years back for Begins. Maybe he’ll get it again- and win this time)
i like the second one better than the first
both are pretty cool, but i lean more towards the last one, it has more of an “independant” look to it.
