Nothing speaks more on girl power than a girl being the hero in imperial China. It’s one of my favorites from Disney.

i really hope the do a good job, mulan was one of disneys best modern animated feature since the lion king….heres hoping its good, casting better be good

Oh the Disney Mulan is a lot of fun and a little dark. Eddie Murphy’s voice performance as the dragon Mushu is funny.

The direct to DVD sequel on the other hand is horrible.

“China Film and Xinhua came in with significant funding to make this a co-production when we met them at Cannes in May,” Christopher Brough said. “They liked that we were taking a Hollywood approach to a classic Chinese story.”

This makes me feel like it actually is a Hollywood production. That snippet along with this one.

“will be among the first films made by Xinhua Media Entertainment in partnership with the state-run China Film Group, according to The Hollywood Reporter”

But I could be mis-reading it. I am still very much interested in it. I hope it is very “Hero”/”House of Flying Daggers” in style. With a bad-ass warrior Chinese woman. This should be done well and could be fantastic.
