If time is a concern, you should just post the audio of the show. I don’t mean to be an asshole, I don’t think anyone asking you to post the shows means to be, it’s just that we like the show and expect to see it. Not everyone has the ability to watch live (some people can’t at all if they’re in different time zones, some people work evening shift, etc.) For myself personally, I commute 2 hours a day and would just rather save these for the car because they’re very entertaining.

Here is a snippet of a Penny Arcade interview from a few years ago that has always stuck with me and might be some food for thought for you. :)

Audience: Yeah, how would you build an audience?
Gabe: Our advice whenver people ask about their webcomic is usually the same. And it’s pretty much: Make things that you think are funny…
Tycho: Yeah, I wouldn’t make it with an eye towards success, because you will become frustrated extremely quickly. You have to be empowered by a genuine personal interest to get through the dark period that awaits you… (crowd laughs)
Gabe: And then stick to a schedule, I mean, update when you say you will. And just keep plugging away at it.

Gerald: Yes, they are geared to the Live audience. That’s why he doesn’t put much effort in posting the the live videos every day for us to watch when we miss the live show.

We do our best to post up the live shows as regularly as possible, but sometimes it’s just not possible. It’s about a 3 hour process to format and render the video and audio files, get the uploaded and the post put together… and this is all done AFTER 6pm.

Sometimes “regular life” gets in the way, and sometimes we have minor technical issues.

It’s easy when it’s a weekly show… but DAILY means that sometimes it won’t get posted afterwards. BUt we’ll do our best.

Which is kind of shame since I would guess that there are lot more people downloading them later compared to actual number of people logging on to the live show.

For me I download and listen to them during commute and when I go jogging.
