Sex And The City 2 Plot

I’m one of those people who never saw a single episode of Sex and the City when it was on TV. I guess that would be because I have a penis. But that didn’t stop me from going out to see the movie, and surprisingly enough I actually didn’t mind it too much. Despite having not seen a single episode, I didn’t feel lost, I was able to pick up exactly on what was happening and join right in with the story (very well written in that regard). The big problem with the movie to me was the sheer length. It went far too long for what it was and really started to feel dragged out. Overall, I liked it though.

But a Sex and the City 2? Seems to me they tied everything up with the first movie and there really is no where else to go. But considering the film made $388 million world wide, and considering the cast basically have nothing else to do, you knew, story or not, there was going to be another one.

Anyway, the franchises male lead, Chris Noth (Mr. Big) was talking at the National Movie Awards in London and dropped that there are plans for a Sex and the City 2, and that this time the film could take place in London. The good folks over at MonstersAndCritics give us this:

“He has some great ideas. I think it would be a great place to make it. If Woody Allen can make films in London, why can’t we?”

Chris also revealed he has some ideas for the storyline of the sequel, which would centre around ‘Mr. Big’ and Sarah Jessica Parker’s character Carrie Bradshaw. He added: “Maybe Carrie and ‘Mr. Big’ could take their honeymoon here – maybe his business could move here or could bring him here and they could settle down.

Yeah, I agree that they should just let the franchise go. They seemed to end it well and it should just be left at that. But at the same time, this is the movie BUSINESS, and making a Sex and the City 2 would be like printing more money… so wouldn’t you do it?

  1. I absolutely looove SATC! I can not wait for the 2nd movie! You people are freakin crazy thinking its just trash! It relates to women all over the world! Most of the men I know love to watch it! And guess what their STRAIGHT! But really who cares what anybody thinks. THEIR ALL STILL GETTIN PAID BIGG BUCKS! :)

  2. I LOVE SATC!!! I didn’t get to watch it on HBO, but when I did get to watch it in syndication….I fell in love! I own every episode and i couldn’t get enough of it. It relates to real life….at least for most women. Who cares what happens in the sequel….I’ll still drag my husband to go watch it!!!!

  3. I liked the first film regardless of being a guy or not. I like films with good stories that you are not left scratching your head trying to figure out what in the hell is going on. Of course I could see them making a sequel, the fans were out in droves trying to get whatever news there was while the film was in production. Also, it made a heck of a lot of dough which means we make another one to any studio exec. with half a brain.

  4. I agree, if I had a child I wouldn’t let them watch it either or OTH. Thank you for seeing my point though. I mean if it’s not your cup of tea cool, I understand. I always hated the spoof movies like Hot Shots, and Scary Movies. I saw both– but didn’t watch any sequels

It’s just that I’ve noticed that so many trash SATC. I mean if you’ve seen it or just don’t want to see cool — but many just trash and say all kinds of stuff about and never watched it, but they knock it so fully.
I love the characters. I love the fashion– it’s fun and I want to see more. And hopefully I will

  5. I was almost able to sit through an entire episode about two years ago, although it only took me ten minutes to realize it was trash. To BHCOLIN, you are right, there is nothing wrong with making a series that target gays and women. After all, the movie did make a profit so who am I to judge right.

I have a 15 year old daughter and I can say I would never let her watch this trash either, I also do not let her watch any of these trash reality shows like One Tree Hill, we watch tv together so I know what she watches and enjoys.

    peace

  6. I loved the TV show and really loved the movie too. I really enjoy seeing these characters, so I can’t wait until a SATC2 comes out.

But to Anti-Ceptic– ummm, are movies just to be made if they are for straight men. They’re are plenty of movies made for straight guys, so why can’t a movie be targeted to women and gay men?

I just find it funny that since before the movie came out people have commented on how the show and movie was sh-t — mostly by people who have seen neither. Not every movie is for everyone — just let people enjoy what they find a fun, entertaining movie.

    just my thoughts

  7. I haven’t seen the TV show or the movie because I have a penis too :P lol but I will see the movie out of curiosity. If they get a good enough script im pretty sure a sequel would be made. Like John said, this is the movie business making a second is making more GREEN !!

  8. The crowd for this movie is mostly women and gay people. Lets be honest about this, men do not watch this show and most of my friends at work think these women are all skanks. I couldn’t have been happier when the show ended. This show had a fan base, but it has nothing to do with the male population. At least no men that I know and I work in manufacturing.

It was a cheap movie to produce and it made a good profit, that is only reason they are pushing a second film period.
