Knowing Trailer

The new Knowing Trailer is out. Nicolas Cage is a hit and miss actor. So many of his films are complete trash (like his last one, “Bankok Dangerous”), but when he’s on his “A” game he’s remarkable and legitimately Oscar worthy. Having said that, I just finally saw the Knowing trailer and I gotta say I’m totally intrigued by it I think it looks sharp. Check it out:

  1. John,

y’know i’m just kidding about changing the title.
Cage bounces from hit to flop, but he can produce a hit if the studio spends a ton of money on the project. These smaller budget movies like Bangkok Dangerous can’t seem to work. He is definitely no Will Smith!

  2. “I think you should read up a little more on how much money some of his films make… and Oscars he’s won/been nominated for”

If this movie was being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, I think it will make a lot of money. But right now, I don’t think this will be a huge hit.

I could care less how many Oscars he’s won/nominated for. For the past 10-12 years most his movies aren’t made for getting Oscars, he’s just making movies for the genre crowd. if I were in his position, I would do the same exact thing. He’s getting paid more money for these studio action movies than doing his Oscar-nominated work. Even if they flop, he still keeps the money.

  3. Alex Proyas made Dark City so there is always hope this might be great. When Nick Cage is on his game he can be great too – so here is hoping this will be great…or at least good.

  4. Hey Padthai,

    You said:

“They should retitle this movie to Another Flop for Nick Cage.”

I think you should read up a little more on how much money some of his films make… and Oscars he’s won/been nominated for.

  5. Good trailer, but with only numbers to go on, is this one of those movies where he can’t stop the inevitable and ultimately has to survive whatever’s coming, or one of those cheesy ones where he figures it all out ahead of time and saves the world?

  6. It looks like a really fascinating idea, and I’m always rooting for Proyas because I’m so grateful for how much ass Dark City kicked. That said, I have pretty much no faith in Nic Cage these days. And the trailer doesn’t really make me think the great idea became a great full-length feature.

  7. okay thats the 7th movie in which he has to find clues and figure shit out…
.none of his movies will ever be as god as the rock ONE because its a michael bay film and TWO because angelina julie fucked up gone in 60 seconds for me

  8. I was on the set of this in Melbourne and I saw The Cage. Looks like a crappy movie. 81 people on a plane? right near the guy who found the number sheet? The writer need to go back to film school.
