In one word i would rate kimbo slice as a average to pathetic fighter. even before he entered into the mma his record was spotty, when he wasnt beating up on people half his size he was getting his a$$ kicked. for instance( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjsdPyn4nX0 ) in this fight he’s fighting a slightly overweight fighter that doesnt succumb to the typical kimbo street beat down that we have all come to enjoy laughing at. but not only that his crew jumps in and is shoving the other fighter out of the way and shielding kimbo whenever it looks like he is getting his own. this kind of behavior aparently carried over into his professional career. the fight against tank abbot, who didnt see that coming? i may not have faith in kimbo slice but tank abbot is over the hill, over weight and currently holds 9 – 14 – 0 (Win – Loss – Draw)
for his professional record. and the fight against bo cantrell don’t make me laugh the man holds about the same status as kimbo in the professional fights. he lost 4 straight fights before kimbo got ahold of him and he was shielded for most of his early professional career. when he actually got to fighting some of the names he started losing that simple. and the reputation of james thompson has already been stated. the one decent fight that kevin fergusen has had was against seth petruzelli and kimbo went down in a staggering 14 seconds after while landing only one clumsy blow on seth. but thats what happens when a man with a big head and internet fueled ego fights a mma legend/veteran.

Kimbo’s cardio is just horrible. He was quoted as saying “He quit smoking for this fight”. JUST FOR THIS FIGHT?!?
He does have some heavy hands but MMA is no longer UFC 1 and you have to have an all around game. Bas Rutten is the fucking man and I think with time (1-2 years) Kimbo under Rutten’s teaching can be a servicable Heavyweight. But he may be too old now, can’t teach an old dog new tricks, etc.
EliteXC will be very careful in picking his fights since they don’t want their cash cow to get beaten live on CBS.
That being said, I can see Kimbo playing the heavy against Hulks good guy, say your prayer and eat your vitamins hulkmaniacs hero.

I usually don’t comment, but I have to commend you John on picking up for my beloved sport of MMA. Kimbo is a joke, the dude is being shielded so a upstart organization can get a fanbase.(Yes, I do realise he only has three professional fights, so therefore EliteXC shouldn’t bill him as The Best IN The World and thus would avoud all the kimbo hate form purists such as myself.)

not to mention the image Kimbo and his crew give MMA.

This movie will flop. I predict 40$ worldwide, with the only tickets being sold to TOWNES and Kathan.

I thought I was a whore. This is a bad idea for so many reasons.

Hogan never a good actor but a great wrestler.

Slice is nothing more than an attempt to make MMA like the WWE.

With all the bad movies the WWE has turned out this one has the smell of Vince Mcmahon all over it.

Kimbo Slice is a joke,

He beat Tank Abbot who was about 12 years past his prime as a fighter, hasn’t won a fight in ages and was about 40+ pounds overweight.

He actually lost his last fight, but the ref never saw him tap and for some reasons refused to stop the fight when James was raining 30 unanswered elbows down on his head… only to have the ref stop for the fight for Kimbo while James was still on his feet.

There is a reason they haven’t had Kimbo fight anyone.

Shit, Brock Lessner comes into the UFC and they make him fight the former Heavyweight champion Frank Mir. Kimbo has been fighting stiffs, and barely winning.

Put Kimbo in with Brock… HAHAHA… Brock would destroy him in about 15 seconds. Brock would take him down at will and pound him into a meaty paste.
