That first bit of production art looks very good, however so often this initial creativity never gets to see the silver screen!!For me personally T3 was a let down but the first scenes of the future war (done by ILM!)look absolutely amazing, if that can be carried on to this show then we are in for a treat!

@ Bruce

i fully understand your point.......
was spiderman done by ILM? i dont know :D:D

do you know they work with physics engines doing their animations?? as far as I'm concerned i'd say the universe is calcualable i dont mind what quantum physicists say i had quantum physics my self and enough of it ^^
uhm and yes Im doin VFX myself for a hobby ^^
yes i really got your point but you have to understand animators do their best and im sure they try to keep the movements of the terminators adequate as they did in T3
you know something? still today i watch T3 and I have still the greatest respect for what they did I still think the VFX are WOW and it's been 5 years now so the VFX for 2009 especially after Transformers and IronMan will be much much better i have full trust in ILM......

well every one bags the hulk jumping in the original version, so i dont see your point?

I guess these art directors know animation but they seem to never get it right, they will never get cgi right, or at least not anytime soon. They try to make things so real and so supperficial which means they cant get every aspect of somthing weather its a robot or creature right. transformers is a perfect example, jumping around like fairies, another great example is spiderman and more prticulary the ending shots of spiderman, where he is swinging all around, his legs and arms going over his head and his body moving like he is made of elastic....but do we ever se peter parker do that? no because he is real and works within the real world, any thing spiderman does is just trying to look cool. sure he got bit by a spider but through out the whole movie you are given no evidence that suggest his body became bone free. The terminators will jump and move like something from irobot and no one will question it because anyone could just say "yeah cas there strong or they have new power" but in the back of your mind you know they couldn't.

Bruce, while you are so smart and know that cgi characters need to have some weight to them did you think for a second that those animators and animation directors wouldn't know that?

Relax. I am sure that 300lb metal skeletons will move like 300lb metal skeletons.

People complain that the Hulk moved too fast for a one ton character and he is cgi... well keep in mind that he is strong enough to leap his one ton ass a mile in the air. Its all about scale.

Jake your so out of touch, i dont care about stopmo or "real" CGI inst a going to be able to add anything new to the terminators except cheap gimmicks to impress audiences. I dont care who is the best visual effects house ever, cgi si still shit. Go watch t3 now, how do the effects look? dated? there is nothing impressive about cgi. Jake see my comment on james camerons new movie avatar posted a few days ago. You must really be in to CG if you cant see its faults, i say "jumping around" becase nothing ever has correct weight or feeling and they make cg character do all this lame impressive stuff they problerly wouldnt. remember star scream swing around that ledge in transformers...wtf "but it was so cool"
as for transformers they didnt move like machines at all, because people dont wanna see that and ilm? they no that. My main point is cgi inst going to add any thing to the franchise. Its just going to make it bigger.

Bruce.
The reason people liked the war scene in the first one was not because of stop motion or that it was "real" but because of bad ass metal skeletons with laser guns.

CGI will be much easier and better to have them do what they do best.

I don't really believe that this movie will do good. Sorry, Warner Bros. but you've made some bad movies in the past, so there goes the next Terminator.

Also, I wonder, what would happen if they remade Terminator? Hmmmm.....

CG is bad, they have been tricked into liking it when its nothing but a gimick, its going to kill terminator because thee going to go over the top and make then do things they never could. I didnt say i wanted stop motion ones i just want the puppet ones from the first to films. Why were those war scenes from the first to so memorable? all tis new one is going to be is bigger. i have always dread the day the terminator is in cgi and they move all fluent and smooth.
