Watching the trailer for this in the theater was the most hilarious experience of my life. People were murmuring about how it looked like shit, and then that title flashed onscreen. The entire audience busted out laughing. It was the funniest thing I’ve ever seen.

Although he has made some pretty bad movies, I really like Nic Cage as an actor. I always look forward to his next film, although I can say I didn’t even bother with Next. That looks like shit. What’s with all the Cage haters?

Have you seen him in the preview? Yikes. He looks a bit like the undead (all pale and pastey) with one of the worst haircuts on an actor since that awful blond wig on Colin Farrel in Alexander. He’s very disturbing looking in the film. Maybe it will come together in the full context of the character in the film, but it was very distracting in the previews.

So when you say he looks strained and bewildered at the same time, you’re basically saying he looks like Nic Cage in every action movie he’s ever done – the man only has one acting style, sorry. At this point he’s like an SNL caricature of himself (see the episode where Jimmy Fallon imitates him on Celebrity Jeopardy and you’ll see what I’m talking about)
