Yo John,

Pendragon is correct, the ring brings to Bilbo – unnatural, long life for the period he has it. He is already a slightly aged hobbit in The Hobbit, by no means a young man.

If ‘you haven’t aged a day’ is just a figure of speech, how do you explain him looking pretty much exactly the same in the history of the ring montage at the start of the trilogy.

Holm will not only do, he will excel as always. The films will just not make sense in the context of a larger world vision without him.

But hey, what do I know?
