True be told. It’s neither. If your definition of emo or goth were anywhere near accurate you would’ve known the error in your comment. However, it’s clear you are misinformed.

As well, anything this commercially driven goes against the true foundation of either subculture. It’s another form of gluttonous capitalism that is preying on those lacking a personal identity.

Some artists have turned their drawings into successful comic books and various merchandise. I could see this working as a movie. I don’t think anyone sees anything more than a “dark” and sarcastic character with cats.

as to your question: “Girl with a Pearl Earring” (although maybe more specifically it was a book based on an image and then adapted into a film, so at least there was a story and plot in place before anyone decided to make a film)
