When it comes to HD media online is the way to go right now. HD has not make the proper inroads in the Brick & Mortar stores yet.

The 'Big River' company is truly the place to buy HD media.

Batman Begins in HD rocks! I have it on HD DVD and it blows away the SD version. Those glorious shades of black! And the sound! Awesome.

Don't get me wrong I'm all for having a collection of dvd's or Blu-rays if that's what your into.
Its going to take awhile for our generation to let go of the hard copies. Dvds cds.

I just feel that Blu-ray is NOT the ultimate. It was a rushed technology that does have drawbacks. And more adavanced replacement type discs or flashdisc's will come along and we will see the same cycle of customer behavior...

I watched my Batman Begins dvd the other night on my digital Tv and I loved it...

Microsoft has allready developed a new disc technology that doubles the memory of a Blu-Ray.
You won't have to wait 5 years.

The PS3 was rushed out so that Sony wouldn't loose the HD vs Blu_ray battle.
They should have just came out with a affordable BR player instead of this half-ass game console that most people paid 600 bucks new for just to play videos.

That's TRENDY baby!!!

These things aren't so much, if you know where to get them. There is a place called Buybacks, near where I live that sells Blu Rays for about 15 to 25 dollars.

Walmart has some for 19 bucks as well, but stuff like the older Harry Potter films.

When DVDs first came out, they were expensive too. I remember when the older movies would run as cheap as 20 bucks, whereas it was a good 30 bucks or more for the big films.

Everyone and by everyone, I mean the people who just like to complain, which isn't everyone, like to say, well "Blu Ray won't matter because in five years we'll have this". Well, that's five freaking years from now, if not more. And it probably will be more.

Call me old fashioned but I prefer hard copies, not digital downloads. I like to have it in my hand, and many of these Blu Rays look amazing. I'm not trading in my entire collection for Blu Ray. I'll buy new stuff in HD, or the stuff I really, really like.

You guys make it sound like you have to be super rich to buy a PS3. All it takes is to save up for a few weeks, don't buy worthless shit that you don't need, and just be a smart buyer for a limited time. I traded in a couple of my older systems and the games that went in with them, and paid about 150 bucks for it. And whats so wrong about checking out the new technology? Nothing.

I've never been to Mars but I can still coment on it. Wtf dude?

I wouldn't worry too much Doug blu-ray is still in the newborn stage. IMO folks that jump on new tech are ether rich or trendy.
Blu Ray IMO is sooooooooo flash in the pan.

There's a new internet coming in a few years called the GRID and blu-ray will fade like VHS tapes all in less then 5 years.
On the wwg network downloads take about 2 seconds. (That's for the entire film btw).

So all you trendy rich folk enjoy upgrading your entertainment systems have fun.
Like the HD vs Blu-ray was realy a war. It was more like a small battle.
Technology is changing so fast right now its just plain TRENDY to go out swap all your dvds for bluRay and of course the TRENDYs have to get the best plasma tv. Gheeesh just cracks me up. I have WAY better things to purchase then BluRay discs.

I was commenting on the info in the article, because that is my lot. I comment on all sorts of things that is know little about - it's inevitable.

I currently do not have a Blu-ray player so I am not savvy when it comes to bargain hunting for the disks. I may not even get one because I have a feeling that TV top "on demand" units will soon reign supreme.

Seriously, Doug? You actually pay MSRP for discs? If MSRP for this is $28.99, Wal Mart will sell it for about $22. Someone also already mentioned Amazon at around $18-19. "I do not know the exact price difference between a DVD and a Blu-ray disc..." If you shop wisely, the difference between DVD and BluRay should be no more than about $4-5. If you know so little about it, then why the hell are you even commenting on it, let alone complaining about it? Holy crap...

So no commentary from Nolan necessitates a triple dip on Batman Begins which is just silly and, heck, an evil way to treat your fans (not that i'm blaming Nolan, he's busy making a movie).

The whole reason i'm against Blu Ray right now is because, for all the hooplah over the stunning picture quality (which is lost on anyone who doesn't own a 40+ inch plasma screen), there has been no evolution beyond DVD in terms of special features, which is why i got into DVD's in the first place. There's nothing that makes me desire Blu Ray right now.
