It looks like a movie is in the works that will feature vampires, sluts, Shakespeare and Ralph Macchio! We get this delicious news from our friends at the moviehole:
Macchio has just completed filming C Plus Pictures’ new vampire comedy “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead”. Filmed completely in New York, the movie also features Devon Aoki (“D.O.A”), Jeremy Sisto (“Six Feet Under”) and Jake Hoffman (“Arrested Development”). Sean Lennon is scoring the film!
Written and directed by Jordan Galland, it centers around Julian Marsh (Hoffman), an out of work lothario, who scores a break as the director of an off-Broadway play. The play is a bizarre adaptation of Hamlet written by a pale Romanian (John Ventimiglia) who is actually a master vampire. A perfect combination of low-brow humor and high-brow aesthetics, this comedy/horror film follows an eccentric cast of characters to explain the connection between Hamlet, the Holy Grail, and some very sexy vampires.
Well this certainly sounds wacky enough to hook me by the lip and reel me in. A comedy/horror film can be a great mix if done right. These films can be a whirlwind of emotion and are usually a blast to see with a group of friends. The Tripper was a fun horror/comedy that I enjoyed very much; it is a film that I wish more people would have had the chance to have seen in the theatre.
Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Undead seems to mix a lot of different elements and I am curious to see how they tie together. I am certainly interested in finding out the role Macchio plays in the film. I hope he is a security guard at the theatre that has to fight off vampires using reverse punches and karate chops. Trying to take the karate out of Raph Macchio is like trying to take the mohawk out of MR. T. It can’t be done, and shouldn’t be tried. We all want to see Macchio punch people out and bang some chubby goth vampire sluts; make our dreams come true.
The project is currently in production and when a release date is loosed we will be sure to let you know!
