Yes, Rodney is on target here. Ian Fleming’s story is about a woman that doesn’t give a quantum of solace to her husband….doesn’t care whether he lives or dies. Vesper does the same to Bond and he, in return, is not so vulnerable and emotionally retreats and hardens.

Umm…

I’m not the world’s biggest Bond fan, but I have to say that Casino Royale was the best Bond flick I’ve ever seen. I was pleasantly surprised by that flick, and I had to eat major crow over Craig(even though he still looks like Gollum). Having said that, I’m not looking forward to a movie that seems to be centered around Bond moping over his love life. What next? Is he going to go emo in a club and slap M around a few times? Come on.

I have to say, the name “Quantum of Solace” isn’t as “cool” sounding as “Casino Royale” or “From Russia With Love” or the many others.

Over the years I have developed respect for the 007 franchise more than any other. So, if “they” say that the title will define itself in the movie, I believe them. For all we know, it may end up being another beautiful creative idea captured on film.

“Quantum of Solace” is one of the last titles of Ian Fleming’s original Bond novels and short stories that haven’t yet been used by the movies. They’re just trying to create the impression that they’re “going back to the original stories”, but like the screenwriter says, the title doesn’t have anything to do with this movie’s story. There’s one more good title left, as far as I know, so I would bet the next one will be called “Risico.”

Quantam of Solace. Almost as stupid a title as Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. So, this year, we are going to get both a new Indiana Jones movie and a new James Bond movie with dumb titles? I feel embarassed at the fact that I will have to say these titles in order to buy my ticket at the box office. DX
