It’s like Rocky only with a wrestler, but a bit better acting.

I Hyped THe Wrestler on Everhype and gave it 94% which I think is fairly accurate.

It’s a little known indie that was herladed in THE NEW YORK DAILY NEWS & VARIETY. It was shot at world famous GLEASON’s GYM where Aronofsky was refused!!!

This is a much better and more realistic look at the indie wrestling scene with WWE hall of famers. you can get it at wrestlemaniacthemovie.com

Don’t think it’s possible to make a ROCKY out of a wrestling movie–it’s staged.

I don’t want to see a film that pretends wrestling is real. That’s what the TV shows are for.

I hope this film is realistic, in that it shows that often the guys behind the outlandish characters in the ring are often every bit as interesting.

This could be either really good, or really bad. I really hope it’s good, and it looks like it should be from the sounds of it.

Checkout Rumble Fish, Angel Heart, The Pledge, Barfly, and Pope of Greenwich Village. I’m not a fan of Sin City but casting Rourke as Marv (my own personal choice as well) is the thing Rodriugez did right.

Hopefully Aronofsky will be elevated to Rourke’s level.

I am thinking this could be interesting, particularly given Aronofsky’s engaging visual style. It could be a new view on wrestling entertainment, and I’m down for this.
