I watched gone baby gone last night and I think this film really demonstrated your point Serena. Michelle Monaghan was a god-awful character full stop (Casey Affleck's girlfriend in the movie), but the acting was also horrible. Every time she was on screen it almost made me hate this great movie.
However, Amy Ryan, a much less recognisable actress (who I only really know from "the Wire")was superb as the missing girl's lying junkie mother.
I say give the female leads to the women who deserve them!!

Shannyn Sossamon & Leonor Varela...Serena, great call!
On a relate note, your guy friends who loved AvP2 and any actor or actress therein...you need a new crop of friends...

Now, the Seeler's list will not surprise anyone. Not really. In no favor or order.

1) Jenna Dewan [Tamara, Step Up]

2) Annie Wood

3) Andrea Parker [from TVs 'Pretender' and 'Less Than Perfect']

4) Jill Wagner

5) Gwendoline Yeo

6) Kathryn Winnick

7) Naureen Zaim [techically a stuntwoman, but I'd like to see her in more stuff than her three second bit in 'Wedding Crashers']

8) Tia Texia

WOW

These women are beautiful!

The one gal that I'm glad to see getting attention these days is Lena Headey. Love it when women play strong, badass females instead of damsels in distres. I'm really digging her.
