I think cloverfield really brought a scene of terror from another point of view. A sequel is needed so we can sort of get the overall feel of this movie. Maybe from the point of view of the creature itself. Where it came from, how it got here, and most importantly, why is it here?

I saw the movie and it gave me a feeling that i had'nt experienced before i was sooooo pissed at the end yet the only thing that brought me from being pissed at the movie was the hope that there was going to be a sequel....i mean if you leave the movie as is...you just wanted to F*** with people and you need to stop becoming a director and take a swift kik in the nuts from everyone who watched it just because you decided to leave us hanging.

What i wanna know is, why didn't the military just use laser guided bombs and cruise missiles?

What about bunker-buster bombs? You gonna tell me that thing could repel such a destructive force as them?

Make a sequel and tell more about the monster...it's origins and why they can't kill it...etc, etc.

Liked Cloverfield tons.....mainly because the genuis of its creativity, which leads me to believe that a sequel could no way outdo the original; however, the whole camera angle was great, but leave it for the first movie, if there is a second, coming back to it will not work.... As for potential sequel...I think it would be neat if they just killed of the Main monster and now the threat is the consantly evolving parasites that fell off it. You know have hundreds of thousands of lion sized killers scattering all over the world and reproducing and spreading its many different viruses. By doing this you can keep the horror and fear in the movie and also create a completely different theme by running off the prevoius one. You can still focus the plot on some group of people agian(Military or citizen, or even both) At the very end of the movie after nearly the entire planet as been stripped of all animals and humans. The last surving people could be standing in the presence of a foriengn object with the old cliche " a little green man walks out" and hence the whole plot of both movies was for the human race to be extinguished from ET's.

I thought that cloverfield was a good movie. I didn't like the way it ended but I was kind of hopeing for a sequel. But I didn't think it was a good idea to have the camera shaking. I thought that was a good idea for some of it but not for the whole movie. If there gonna do a sequel they should have Lily and his brother jason come back. I thought that Jason didn't really died. But i liked the movie and looking forward to a sequel.

Perhaps this was a terrorist attack. The monster could have been transported in the hull of the ship that was first destroyed. The monster could have been biologically engineered to withstand a tremendous amount of firepower. It could be a mixture of a certain oceanic worm that can be cut in half and still survive and develop further. Also, the monster could be part human as well. I felt as though it may have been after watching the movie. The monster instinctively hates the U.S. which is the reason that it attacks the Statue of Liberty early on. The only problem is which country would we pin this one on and what country would posess such technology? That probably wouldn't exactly improve diplomatic relations with some country out there, but what the heck. It's only a movie. BTW, I loved the movie in every way and watched it 3 times.
