Remember how her people were shouting to the heavens that she’d get an Oscar nom for that role? I never heard zilch about that film ever being released or anything. Odd.

Is this a musical? Aside from Keys (who I’d throw roses at her feet at any given moment) , we also have Jennifer Hudson here, who was great in Dreamgirls (but she played a singer) and we have Queen Latifah, who is great in some movies, horrid in others.

Since Fox Searchlight is the distrubutor, that actually speaks volumes about the film. The film is probavly on a low to modest budget, will most likely have a limited release platform (but the soundtrack will rule) and folks might have to hunt to find it.

Who knows, it’ll probably “be” a decent surprise gem for next year.
Would I prefer actual actors in the parts, being an “indie” film? Of course. Will this be a terrible film because three recording artists happen to be in three main roles? Tough to say.

I read it and my sweet little female heart just fell in love with it, I have given copies to all my friends. It really is a beautiful story that just makes you feel good. I am very excited for this film to come out, my fingers are crossed, hoping it can hold a candle to the book.
