That’s not always the case. Take a look at the Dragon Wars poster and you’ll notice the credits are nowhere near the bottom.

As far as I recall, I believe it is, as a rule, not possible to have the credit block sit anywhere else but at the bottom, and parallel to the bottom of the poster. No exceptions.

I’m not even necessarily looking forward to Ledger as the Joker…or them using the Joker at all in this film after the ’89 version…but this poster is pretty cool!

That picture still is wack. If we’ll have to see the joker smearing lipstick all over his face while masturbating in a darkened apartment, filled with scrapbooks about Batman and completely with strange displays of bugs and/or human bodyparts in jars I’m going to be pissed.

What this poster needed is the bat symbol behind the title so everyone can tell its Batman. Just like how Freddy vs. Jason should show a group of humans so you can tell it isn’t all “Freddy vs. Jason”.

It’s a lot like most centerfolds. Pretty to look at now and then but all fake.

How can you tell?

1) Aside from what has been said above, what do you make of Heath Ledger hogging up a poster by his lonesome and yet is third billed? It would make sense if Batman (Bale) were in the artwork somewhere.

2) The DC logo isn’t the current logo.

3) While expected to be a PG-13, the MPAA hasn’t officially rated the film yet. Indeed- it’s still filming and has a lot of post yet.

4) The credit block itself. Look very closely. VERY CLOSE. It is the credit block for Batman Begins. Unless it’s Batman Begins II, Liam Neeson’s Raj went to the Lazarus Pits, and we were hoodwinked and Katie Holmes is…well, enough of that.

5) There IS a teaser poster. Yes,it is the shattered Bat-logo, white light behind it, Joker card snipped off. We have all seen it. There wa also a better one than the above, but I think it was done up strictly for the recent Wizard World (Batman on a rooftop; a swarm of bats around a moon…)
