Tony Jaa is fresh and exciting. He is definately the future and I will sopport any movie he is in, because I have never seen anyone like him in martial arts. Ong Bak was great and the protector was just as good. Definately the martial arts star of tomorrow/today.

I Tony Jaa!!! Anyone who really loves amazing martial arts knows the plot is secondary. You watch enough chinese Li movies, enough Lee, etc and you know what will happen next. It's the amazing stunts and choreography that are thrilling. So of course I loved Ong Bak and Tom Yum Goong although I think Bresson really screwed up the subtitles and soundtrack on Ong Bak's rerelease...removing the cute cultural naivete and making Ting seem stupid instead of humble and pias. I thought the scenery and chance to see elephant actors made the (yes, almost identical plot) work for Ong Bak. I would watch 100 movies just like it...Tony rescues orphans from bad guys taking advantage of Thai ppl, Tony avenges poor Thai factory workers...whatever!

I'll admit the guy has talent and his movies have only been watchable because of him and his sequences but wow, the movies have been awful. I didn't even see the second one. I couldn't bare the awfulness of it.

I can totally see him as the future of martial arts films but they'd better find some better material for him.

Tony Jaa is truly amazing. The way he mixes Thai kickboxing with stunts so perfictly is simply jaw dropping. I hope we see allot more of him.

But ya, I have to agree, the story of The Protector just seemed like it copied Omg Bak. Also I just didn't like Portector as much as I did Ong Bak, cuz there was allot of times it seemed like he was just doing the same stuff over and over again. Got kind of boring in the middle. But I did like the ending allot.

I think Ong Bak is one of the best action movies ever though. I thought the fight scenes were much more thought out and pushed the limits of stunt work extemely far. Just a much more creative film as a whole.

I can't wait to see his movie. I just hope he tries to keep it fresh.

I've still have to see Moti Warrior and I have a question is'nt The Protector Moti with a different name? Because I remember seeing the trailer and I saw a quick shot of the fight scene when Jaa breaks all the guards arms and legs. Is'nt that from Moti?

That last scene in The Protector where he just keeps snappin' legs, arms and necks is f**kin' insane.

I just hope he switches the plot up on his next film.
Let's be honest, Ong Bak and Tom Yum goong (the protector) were very similar in structure and plot. Someone steals something from a little village. Tony Jaa is the best fighter so he has to go get it back. Multiple ass-kickings ensue. Very similar....

I do think he has a bright future ahead of him and I for one cant wait to see what he does next. I'm all for the return of the martial arts action flick. If it takes Tony Jaa to make this happen, then let's get it goin'.
