Awsome, a great series to get a movie treatment. And with Disney and Bruckheimer behind it, if they can make a hit series based off of something as simple as an amusement park ride (Pirates series), then they can pull it off for sure with Prince of Persia I think.

They don't even have to make it that true to the source maturial, cuz I know some of it will have to be changed. They just have to make it action packed, damatic, great CGI work for it's awsome monsters, with most of the main story still intact, and it'll be awsome fun at the theaters.

And yes, Silent Hill was an awsome move. Yes the ending was weak and more of something for the true fans of the game series. But still, as a whole, very true to the source and allot of fun to watch.

Yes, John, you know where I stand on Silent Hill. But dammit, I gotta tell ya, I am getting sick and tired of the fucking fanbase for that movie. I liked it, but since "I didn't LOVE it" I "still don't UNDERSTAND it" blah blah blah. Give it up, John. Give it up. You, nor I, cannot possibly win against these diseased minds. And I liked the film, and I like helmer Christophe Gans' work. Then again, Silent Hill wasn't another Le Pact Des Loups either.

The closest "decent" adaptation thus far was the corny Lara Croft films. That's NOT saying much. But I think if video game adapts follow that line of thinking- which seems to be the case for Prince Of Persia- then my hopes are up. Same thing if Eathworm Jim or Duke Nukem got a film. I think making a *story/adventure* around a specific character is the best way to go. The filmmakers are not completely bound by a series of games; the new film can inspire a spinoff game.

John,
The creator of Prince of Persia, Jordan Mechner, created a video game in the mid-90's that would be perfect for a movie adaptation. It was called "The Last Express".
A mystery set aboard the Orient Express, it features actors who were rotoscoped into an "art-nouveau" style that was popular around the time of the game setting, 1914.
I don't want to go into too much detail here about the game, but here's a link with more information if you're interested:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Last_Express
Hopefully, if The Prince of Persia is a success, maybe The Last Express will be considered for adaptation too, as it really lends itself to a cinematic version.
