i’m sorry, but the WHOLE POINT of the character is about a robot finding a heart. to even THINK (or even worse – prefer) getting rid of that original concept and making it something cynical really bothers me.

If it’s just gonna be another family friendly, give everybody a hug at the end type movie then I really dont have much interest. I’d probably still go see it but I would prefer a grittier approach.

What purpose would a remake serve? IT IS A ROBOT. You don’t have actor replacement issues. You don’t have a question if no.5 is too old for the part. Indeed, could it be voiced by the same actor? Why not the 80’s n.5 is magicallyfund and reactivated, and must cope in a new fish out of water situation in today’s tech world. Once ahead of his time, he finds out time has started to catch up to him.

What’s wrong with that?
