Harrison says he is Fit Enough for Indiana Jones 4

With all the buzz and anti-buzz about the fourth Indiana Jones movie, at least ONE person involved is trying to put a positive spin on things.

SciFi Wire says:

Harrison Ford, speaking to the press at the Rome Film Festival last week, said that he feels “fit to continue” to play Indiana Jones, despite growing older, the Associated Press reported. Ford, 64, said that he was delighted to team up again with director Steven Spielberg and producer George Lucas for the film.

“We did three films that stay within the same block of time,” Ford told reporters. “We need to move on for artistic reasons and obvious physical reasons. I feel fit to continue and bring the same physical action.”

Now we all know that John thinks this movie will never happen. I gotta tell you, I have TRIED to come up with a reason to argue against him on this. But really I have to admit, I too don’t think it will happen.

Harrison says he is fit enough to do the movie, and considering they are going to move the timeframe up a step, that wouldnt be hard. This is supposed to be an adventure of an older Indiana Jones. So he is just admitting that he is as ‘unfit’ as the character they are writing for him. Now to add some flavour to their monthly planned Indy4 tidbits, Ford admits that Connery may reprise his role too, calling Sean a “part of the emotional fabric of these films”

This movie will be forever in “pre-production”. We should start a poll for which month they will declare they are NOT doing this movie after all.

  1. I thought of that option too Darth Munson. But consider how little money will get made when they try to put out Indy4 with an 85 year old Indy, or how horribly it will flop when they have to resort to using a different actor because it took too long.

  2. I can only think of one point to disagree with John’s assessment that it won’t get made….money. Never underestimate the power of the almighty dollar when Mr. George Lucas is involved. With all that being said….I agree with John. It just simply won’t get made.

  3. Ford wants to go do it.
    Lucas wants to do it.
    Spielberg wants to do it.

They cannot decide on a story/script for Indiana Jones.
Perhaps there are no more stories to tell.
Said that, said this. Been there, done that.

This script, that script, a whole darn forest is leveled to the foundation. Nothing here but a row of stumps.

    Literally stumped.

    Move along.

  4. Would I love to see it? Yes.
Will it be good? Who knows.

I remember in 2004 being so excited about the idea of another Indiana Jones movie… and the projected release date on a number of sites was listed as 2006. Ha. 2005 even.

How many scripts have they written?? Hahaha.

  5. Rodney:

I think it would be great if they set this movie in early 50s, and have Indiana Jones trying to beat some of Joseph Stalins NKVD goons to some some artifact.

  6. I really don’t know if I want to see another Indiana Jones film. It just seems like its been too long since the last film, and that film ended brilliantly with them riding off into the sunset

To put it simple, I don’t want to see what happened with Star Wars happen to Indiana Jones. (if you really think about it, we didnt need the prequals)

  7. If they do go ahead and make it, I predict that it will suck. I don’t mean to be a spoilsport. It’s just that the continual procrastination suggests a lack of inspiration. If they had another good Indy film in their bones, they’d have made it a long time ago, probably no more than five years after the last one.
