There are few actors that I respect as much as William H. Macy. Can you think of one single film where this guy didn’t turn in an amazing performance? No… I can’t either. But as great as he’s been… man… he’ll always be “The Shoveller” to me.
The man is also known to be the eternal professional, and for that reason a lot of people love to work with him. But he had a few choice words about Lindsay Lohan. No… not blasting her for her political views… but for how she conducts herself on set. The IMDB gives us this:

Yeah, this isn’t the first… or the second… or the last time we’ve heard about the diva like behavior and unprofessional conduct of Lindsay “I have no hits or drawing power, yet I think I’m the second coming of Julia Roberts” Lohan.

If I was Lindsay I would be embarassed that I was put down in such a way by a fellow actor, especially if that actor is Macy. I hope she does feel embarassed, but from her recent behavior I would bet she’ll only throw a hissy fit, public or not. I honestly would like to see after her latest on set movie fiasco that she wise up a bit; however, it doesn’t appear as if the young woman has any common sense.
She has potential be an actress, but right now she only portrays herself as a spoiled whiney brat. She’s young, it could still change, but honestly I don’t think it will unless the studios stop hiring her because of her behavior. When there’s no steady money coming in and with the way she apparently spends it could give her an attitude adjustment real quick.
Heck, it’s not like the movie goer audience would miss her. There hasn’t been enough she’s done, aside from Disney flicks, that could make her a bankable movie star.
Yes, young girls like Lohan should learn professionalism which is a required trait in any industry. Many times success goes to the head in case of people who become successful at a young age. Mace did the right thing !!

Despite the film having Brad Douif in it (even in crazy horror flicks he saves the day) and having the sexy bare shoulders of Kim Delany, as bad as it was, for some reason, it is enjoyable…I guess. I liked Eric Red’s next film, Bad Moon, a little better…but it was still hard to believe it was the same guy who co-wrote Near Dark and wrote the original Hitcher.
Body Parts started with an interesting premise, then halfway through shifted gears into something even more outrageous. The serial killer wanted his body parts back.

I’ve never seen it, but as a fan of body parts movies, I will have to search for it online. My favourite (to date) body part movie is still the one with Jeff Fahey in it, Body Parts. A true classic because it’s so unbelievably horrible from start to finish you have to wonder like I do for years how a studio could have green lighted it. My bf at the time and I laughed through the whole showing. Well, all ten of us in the cinema did, actually. I highly recommend it. Especially during a 4:20.

I disagree of course, about Macy in “Cellular”. I thought that film, aside from the uneeeded slapstick moments, was a surprising gem. But I also liked his performance in “The Cooler” and a ton of David Mamet’s films.
But there’s something that John Campea left out of Macy’s criticism on Lindsay Lohan:
Here’s what Macy’s extra comments were:
“I think what an actor has to realize (is that) when you show up an hour late, 150 people have been scrambling to cover for you. It’s nothing but disrespect. And Lindsay Lohan is not the only one. A lot of actors show up late as if they’re God’s gift to the film. It’s inexcusable, and they should have their asses kicked.”
Now, while even Macy said Lohan is talented, he is spot on. Lohan is setting herself up for being another talented, smart and gifted actor/actress…who pissed thier careers down the nearest commode. When actors are paid huge sums of money to do a job, to get a part that could have gone to another (or even better?) actor…then don’t show up when the production is ready…that is disrespectful. Any other profession/industry/business, you pull a stunt like that, your ass is docked pay, and/or fired.
Macy is the most vocal, not just for his time being altered for Party Girl Lohan, but for Lohan disrupting “Georgia Rule” as well- Macy’s wife, the equally talented Felicity Huffman, was one of the stars in that upcoming film.
And even if that wasn’t the case, studios and/or producers are sending messages out to out of control, over exposed actors. GOOD FOR THEM. Sadly, if some “stars” don’t get the warming signs, would it really have to take the real “actors” to sound off? Would they listen, then? I can’t tell you. But I can tell you I am personally under the theory that when this sort of “star” power is a factor for causing production problems, it comes as no shock to me a year later when the film is released and does zero business…and the worst performance will always come from that actor who jammed the other cast and crew up?

When a talent gets full of themselves, I always notice a downward spiral. Some actors bounce back, but sadly, some do not. I really don’t want to see Lohan start going into the gutter for parts…but I wish she stop trying to out party her untalented rival, Paris Hilton.
I am sick, sick, sick, SICK of “stars” (actors work for a living) who piss on thier fanbase, piss away thier talent, get over exposed, and ET will proudly splash them at the top of the broadcast with the endless party-popping crap-la. It breaks my heart. Party all night, piss around all day. Promote a film they hardly show up on. If it wasn’t shit before, it’s shit now. Film comes out, tanks. Overpaid and overexposed, sheep blindly throw roses at thier feet. Cycle repeats.

Sure he may have been in some crap roles, but it’s what you do with the crap you’re served that makes people respect and appreciate you as an actor. And since everyone, by all accounts, love Macy as much as I do, his words carry weight. If even he feels he needs to make a public statement of any kind about Lohan, then you know things aren’t so rosy for her future. I have never read or heard an account where Macy was unfair or unprofessional towards his fellow actors and directors, so for him to say how rude she is and that she needs her ass kicked, she must have really ticked him off. He normally more reserved about his opinions on other actors and their antics, just as he is more laid back about other actors and their antics – as long as they don’t effect or disrupt him directly while he’s trying to work. Macy has been in some bad films (Air Force One, Sahara, Cellular, Psycho remake etc.), but he usually gives a great performance.
