Dungeons & Dragons Fan Film Contest

DandDOk, now this I find kinda cool. I’m a fan of fan films. I love seeing what other people can do with absolutly nothing but a dusty camera and some imagination (sometimes they have a little more than that).

Wizards of the Coast are sponsoring a Dungeons & Dragons Fan Film contest. You do a 5 minute or less fan film about D&D, and you can win some cool prizes. Sci-Fi gives is this:

The grand prize is a new computer, video-editing software, a video camera and a Dungeons & Dragons “Year of Dragons” gift pack. Three finalists will receive round-trip flights to Los Angeles, along with hotel accommodations, to attend the final awards ceremony. All eligible films will be posted at Gamevideos.com about Sept. 15, and fans nationwide will be able to vote for their favorites until Sept. 30. The final three films will be screened in Los Angeles at the Worldwide Dungeons & Dragons Game Day, where the grand-prize winner will be announced.

It’s funny that I came across this story today. Just last night, Rodney, Doug and I actaully had a “Geek Out” night (what we call the evenings that we play RGPs). We haven’t done it in years.

Hmmm… perhpas we should throw a film together and enter it. Now THAT would be funny.

  1. I say they take all the best of the short films, and meld them as one film “Dungeons And Dragons 3”, and the winner gets to film an additional half hour with his cast, since they would be the only group to survive various Beholders, Dragons, Witches, Mimics, Orcs, and Asmodeus.

Anything but the first two movie on DVD.
