Please god everybody who has seen Arrested Development needs to demand more! I watched every episode and there’s nothing better then this show. PLEASE MAKE A MOVIE.

I sincerely hope a movie will continue the Bluth saga. However, the show ended on a pretty good note and I would hate to see its legacy tarnished by a movie that doesn’t do the series justice. If they can get all the original cast on it could be good like the South Park movie. Only time will tell.

well, the showtime deal was conditional on hurwitz staying on. he declined after all that had been happning, feeling it was time to put it to rest. being on the verge on cancellation year in, year out is a hard toll. now on showtime, it wold be guaraneed a lot more staying power, but he felt it had run its course.
of course, the season would be shorter, and no doubt some compromises on pay would have to take place also.

now i’ve only seen the first season, and i’ve go to say, i agree. while its a funny/amusing tv show, ala the office. they should stop it before it becomes a joke.
also, i can’t really see how it could spinoff into a movie. maybe a tv special or two…

According to Defamer the showtime deal wasnt lucrative enough for the shows creators so they ended that. But if anyone saw the shows finale they actually had a scene where Ron Howard, the narrator and producer of the show, was telling the Bluth family that they could turn their story into a movie. That would be nice to see that scene dovetail right into the begining of the movie.

I think Showtime agreed, and the cast and crew were all ready to continue. It all hung on the decision of Mitch Hurwitz. Yesterday he declined to continue. He was drained from the work he’s put into the series.

I don’t think this is right at all. Being a diehard fan of Arrested Development, a few friends and I have discussed the possibility of a movie, and agreed that it’ll be quite hard to do. I made a huge “please watch the show” post on my site… unfortunately a day before the announcement came out cancelling the show. It’s a hard show to get into, but once you do, it’s the most brilliant thing. I strongly believe that making a movie will not help garner new viewers. Even if they do, I doubt it will be a huge hit, despite being welcomed by the fans.
