More good casting news, and again for Superman. James Marsden and Hugh Laurie are in according to Coming Soon.
The Hollywood Reporter says Marsden will play Lois Lane’s love interest, Richard White. Laurie is in final talks to play Perry White, editor in chief of the Daily Planet. The two characters are related, though the studio declined comment on if they are father and son.
I think that’s great news on the Laurie front as he is a superb actor both comic and straight. There’s something so natural about his performances. For Marsden, I’m not so sure how that news bodes, having only seen him as Cyclops in the X-Men series.
They also quite clearly state:
Kate Bosworth is in negotiations to play Lois Lane.
So still awaiting official word on her casting.
Intersting choice for Perry White, but seems like a good one. Glad that Singer went this route instead of with Steve Martin.

Then there’s still chance for Emmy Rossum to play Lois Lane! I hope they even consider Emmy, after having been awarded the Best Young Actress award in the last Critics Choice ceremonies.
It will be interesting to see James Marden again without that ruby visor.
