In a strange turn of events we’ve actually gotten a film sooner here in Canada than our neighbors to the south … Takeshi Kitano’s Zatoichi hit theaters in Toronto and Vancouver this week and opened to generally positive reviews. This isn’t Kitano’s best film (I give that to Sonatine … most of his fans would think I’m out of my mind for even considering anything other than Fireworks for that honor … go check them both out …) but it is definitely one of his most entertaining.
