A real masterpiece – I hope if nothing else, this introduces this amazing film to a new generation. I don’t so much mind the addition of new effects/scenes if it doesn’t blemish the original tone/story – and it’s nice to see what an improved budget and technology would have allowed the filmaker to do.

A nice touch on these redux/DC’s would be to include the film in it’s original form (digital re-mastering only if anything).

Can’t wait! The trailer looks great with the clean-up job and enhanced effects. I have never seen a good, clean copy, so this should be fun.

The ear-mark graphic is striking… But I really think DVD covers should feature their original poster art. For some reason, this seems to maintain the wholeness or integrity of the project… Unless of course, the original poster sucked… Which was not the case for THX 1138.

I think the deal with a Director’s cut is that you actually have to BE the director…not just A director.

Lucas didn’t direct I am a Fugitive from a chain gang. That was Mervyn LeRoy. And I am sure that Paolo Cavara & Gualtiero Jacopetti would have issues with Lucas if he did a director’s cut of their film.

“The George Lucas Directors Cut”? Thats a bit nonsensensical is what The Duke makes of it all. Fantastic cover art, though. Not enough bald people on covers nowadays.

Maybe The George Lucas Directors Cut is the first in a series of films George will do his work on. He started with his own, obviously, but maybe we’ll see George Lucas Director’s Cuts of I Am A Fugitive From A Chain-Gang or Mondo Cane. “These gungans know not the destruction and devestation their Rastafarian antics will invoke”
