Everything seems to look pretty sweet. I am just concerned, like most, about the quality of the story. We do not need a dramatic masterpiece, but we do need a story that leads up to maximum violence without getting in the way. From what I have seen in the trailers thus far, this film looks like it will be competing with Rambo 4 for ultra violent film of the year.
You see, when we have an alien VS a predator I really do not give a damn about anything else. I want to see an advanced alien species fighting a killing machine of evolutionary perfection in my own back yard. I want to see the Predator spill acid blood on the front lawn of the White House – Dept. of National Security, deal with this!
Which is the alien?????

Pic#1: At first glance, it looks like a giant centipede is eyeballing a predator. Then I notice it is the PredAlien and the Predator showing one another who has the bigger mandibles. Then, I imagined flipping the image, putting an alien in place of the PredAlien and …bingo, Shazam and abracadabra…the same action pose from AvP . Lame…
Pic #2: Aside from a slight nod to the image from Alien3, which is sort of neat, the second thought came to me: I am the PredAlien and young lady my mandibles will soon feel up your cups as I am about to give you one nasty looking hicky! (Best pic of the lot though….)

Playing on the soundtrack for no apparent reason, the filmmakers could only get the rights to “The Twist” from Chubby Checker.

Pics look boring and the alien looks cheesy…I wish Fox would stop milking this concept on the cheap and really do it well…Fox is one of the cheapest studios…what happened to the studios of the 80’s and early nineties? When did they start producing crap!?

why not have it start up immediately? We know what the fuck is happening already. It started off where the last one left off.
Yeah. That first five minutes — whoa! Slow-the-f-down! I guarantee some young suit-type wrote a brilliant note: “we have to have them [preds / aliens] crash on the planet and escape within the first 5 minutes”. Gaur.An.Tee it.
And the little kid and his dad are horrible. And on the predator planet? So how is that predator-guy (the one that spots his buddy getting killed on the ship that’s going to Earth) gonna cross the galaxy in like, maybe 10 “real” hours?

The 5 minutes of the movie are already online – check AICN. It looks way too rushed, with things happening too quickly, without even allowing tension to settle in. The direction seems mediocre. It will probably be packed with mindless action, have a poor story and little atmosphere. I’ll wait for it to turn up on cable someday.
I will be cautious about the sequel. Until then, ALIENS BETTER FUCKIN’ WIN!
I want to be open minded for this second attempt, but I fear it will be as bad as the previous film. The predalien is a bit funky looking imo, but the wolf predator looks pretty cool.
as for the story it looks like it starts off right after the first one ends. The alien burts out of the Predator’s chest and kills some Predators on the ship which makes it crash to Earth. Face huggers escape the ship as well as Predators and shit ensues with us being raped in the middle. Sounds like a good time.
You can watch the first five minutes of the movie on some site…forgot where. That plus the redband trailer is suprisingly getting me excited for the film. Originally I thought there was no way in hell I’d see it. Looks way better than the original but extremely nasty/gory from the redband trailer.
I dont really like the look of the Predator Alien…The Predator in the bottom pic looks pretty sweet. but thats it, probably will pass seeing this in the theaters, may rent it…..
